liverpool vs arsenal review

and yes... once again liverpool was lucky for the third time in a row. 2 clear penalties from arsenal and when liverpool gets a weak penalty claim, the corrupted referee gives it to them. the penalty claim was weak, with only a trip outsude the penalty box. For arsenal, it was an obvious pulling of shirt and the second, Fabregas was brought down clearly. the last thing we need was for a Liverpool player's neighbour as the referee of the match, while Kuyt blocking the referee's vision of the penalty and lastly, pure bribery and math-fixing scandals from Benitez. Arsenal were definitely the better team in the trilogy with more shots and possesion compared to Liverpool. After the first leg, I thought UEFA will do something about the crap. After this match, you can perfectly see how lucky Liverpool are.

Liverpool will have to thank UEFA this time round.

A Difficulty I faced

A difficulty I faced was during a roller coaster ride. It happened a few years ago. I thought that the roller coaster ride was an ordinary, fast and thrilling ride in Disneyland. I was wrong.

I looked at the height limit, and found something very suspicious. Usually, height limits for other roller coaster rides would range from 100 to 120 cm. However, the height limit was 140cm.

During then, I still did not care, feeling that it was maybe faster. Then, I read the instructions”this ride is thrilling and is … 360 loop! I was shocked. I never dared to take a 360 loop before. Feeling scared, I wanted to pull out from taking the ride. My father tried to calm me down by saying that the 360 loop was just a circular turn. Then, in front of me, a carriage went upside down and back down again.

I was appalled and more nervous and scared. By the time I reached the front, I regretted taking the ride. It was too fast. I realised that my family and me were already on the carriage. I mumbled,” I never felt so reluctant before.”

Then, the ride took off. It was too fast for me to realise anything- whether I was going left or right. Suddenly, the loop appeared right in front of me. I just opened my eyes and the carriage went upside down, as fast as the wind. When the ride completed, I was shocked. I managed to survive my first 360 loop on a roller coaster.

When I left the roller coaster ride, I was feeling both relieved and proud as I have managed to complete the 360 loop.

A moment I enjoyed with my family

The moment I enjoyed with my family would definitely be during the holidays, when we went overseas. This was the only time my family could go out together for a long time as my father was usually overseas or worked very late.

I was also very excited as we were going to London and Paris and I know this is a rare opportunity to tour in Europe. It was 17 day trip which we were planning for.

The moment we touched down, we were confused by the complicating tube (train) lines. Eventually, we arrived at Trafalgar Square- where our apartment was. Due to the jet lag, we were too tired to do anything, even to eat. We turned in for the night.

For the next week I visited all the attractions in London- Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and my favourite soccer stadium. My family definitely enjoyed this experience, despite the fact that they had to endure the freezing conditions. We communicated a lot during this trip, navigating our way through London and other places.

Then, we took a bus ride from London to Paris. It was 12 hours of torture. Although my other cousins and I recommended taking the train, which was 4 times faster, my mother persisted on taking the bus as it was cheaper and there was more experience.

Once we reached Paris, my mum got ill and while we were on the top of the Eiffel Tower, she puked. Therefore, our night activities were cancelled and we took care of her until she recovered. The last week of my holidays passed like wind and soon it was home. I hated it. I wanted to stay there forever.

Orientation Scouts Meeting for Secondary One students

Orientation meeting for Secondary One Students

Saturday, 12 Jan 2008, was the first official scouts meeting of 2008. Secondary One students were invited to join the meeting. The seniors were incredibly friendly to us and to the secondary one students. This was exactly the same way they treated us one year ago. This was their plan to lure the Sec 1 students into Scouts.

Today’s meeting was interesting compared to there previous few. There was five minutes of Physical training after flag break. It was obvious that the Sec 1 students were struggling with the steps, but everyone had to forgive them as this was their first meeting. After PT, it was a round of ice breaker. We got to know each other more- even the Secondary 3 and 4 scouts.

The most exciting activity was the flying fox and tree climbing activity. The flying fox was constructed by the seniors the day before and all the poles, strings and harnesses belonged to us. Unfortunately, the structure was constructed behind the school, in the forest, where there was full of mud. Therefore, all of out foots were full of mud. I was drenched in mud and water from head to toe. Due to time constraint, some of us could not complete the activities.

At 1 30 pm, I thought it was time to go back. However, the leader- known for his surprises, asked the entire troop to stay back to clear up the place. I did not know that he was up to this as the timetable did not state anything. Reluctantly, I stayed back to clear up the place. Only the Sec1 scouts were freed from the leader’s wrath. I was lucky as my father called me before it rained. My other fellow scouts were drying the poles and it started raining, so I am still wondering what time they will return home.

First Week In School

The first week of school has just been fine for me. I am still currently suiting back to VS life after a 2-month holiday break. Expectedly, I found it difficult to wake up on the first day of school. I entered the school gates reluctantly. When I entered, I saw many lost Secondary One students hanging around the hall area. I made my way to the classroom later.
The teachers I have met so far were familiar so I still used to their teaching styles. The class committee members were also elected and I was chosen to be a representative of Physics. David remained as the class monitor while kheng jing was forced to be M2. There were practically no lessons on the first day of school, except for some Chinese reading we had to do during Mother Tongue lessons. This was the reason of many administrative jobs and camp preparations for Secondary One students.
The second day was when I received my first project- a D&T research on Diorama. To add to the misery, this was in conjunction with Literature. There was a boring screening of a video which was in Japanese so none of us could fully understand it. For the rest of the day, it was free and easy as most of the teachers were away. Before they left, they gave us stacks of homework which left many of us complaining.
On Friday, I met a new history teacher. He showed us some pictures of famous people of the past and told us to read our textbooks later. The rest of the day was nothing surprising.
The ends of year examinations are very important year as they will count for my streaming for Secondary 3. I hope to score myself into triple science or even IP.
